Judas Iscariot- His Biggest Mistake.

(Painting by Di Trevi)

Judas followed Jesus fervently, he was made a treasurer by Jesus, Judas performed miracles and healed the sick.

Being one of the top 12 disciples is a big testimony to himself.

He was almost same as other disciples in not understanding Jesus talked about
earthly kingdom but heavenly kingdom.

He witnessed chaotic last 8 days of Jesus life. He mistook people's euphoria
over Jesus on Palm sunday. He thought if Jesus got arrested, people will revolt
against the Romans and Jesus will bring freedom to Jews.

So he betrayed Jesus not for money but to bring political upheavel, so Jesus will become the king of Jews.

Little did he know that same folks who praised Jesus will turn against Jesus,
Little did he know that Jesus will meekly surrender
Little did he know that Jewish priests will turn Jesus, a Jew to Romans
Little did he know that Jesus will be cruxified.

We can't blame Judas for this, Peter and other disciples were equally ignorant
and Peter denied his association with Jesus.

When Judas approached Jesus to betray him, Jesus said "my Friend", which means even in the middle of his betrayal, Jesus never despised Judas.

Judas's biggest mistake was he did not understand the power of Jesus forgiveness and Love.

If Judas had understood that he would not committed suicide, instead he would have run to Jesus and asked for the forgiveness and he would seen the greatest miracle of
all times, Jesus's resurruction and would have written atleast one Epistle.

So in my opinion, Judas's biggest mistake is not knowing God's love and his willingness to forgive sins however grave it is.

So whoever you are, whatever sins you might have committed, it is time to turn to Jesus and be a greatest Christian ever.

God Bless.
